The annual collection for the Catholic Campaign for Human Development is this weekend, and parishes around the country are asking for donations. But the CCHD has a long history of funding organizations that promote abortion, homosexuality, contraception and Marxist revolution. In case you missed it, we just reported that even the director of the CCHD is embroiled in the midst of an unethical conflict of interest.
Despite the years of investigations from faithful Catholics, who have sounded the alarm about various grantees of the CCHD that either directly or through coalitions promote abortion, contraception and homosexuality, the pleas of the faithful continue to fall on deaf ears.
So, this year, send the CCHD the money it so richly deserves! Since Saul Alinsky is the greatly heralded hero of the CCHD, be sure to place “Alinsky Bucks” in this year’s envelope.
Make sure to send the CCHD your message that as long as it continues to maintain funding for organizations that are morally repugnant to Catholics, these are the only dollars it will receive. Just click the link for Alinsky Bucks right here, print out a sheet of them, and place the bills with Saul Alinsky’s mug in the CCHD collection envelope.
And for those who suggest that Alinsky could be made compatible with Catholic Social Justice, just remember what Alinsky said about abortion, contraception and the Catholic Church in his book, “Rules for Radicals”:
“I have always believed that birth control and abortion are personal rights to be exercised by the individual. If, in my early days when I organized… neighborhood in Chicago, which was 95 per cent Roman Catholic, I had tried to communicate this, even through the experience of the residents, whose economic plight was aggravated by large families, that would have been the end of my relationship with the community. That instant I would have been stamped as an enemy of the church and all communication would have ceased.
“Some years later, after establishing solid relationships, I was free to talk about anything…. By then the argument was no longer limited to such questions as, ‘How much longer do you think the Catholic Church can hang on to this archaic notion and still survive?’ …the subject and nature of the discussion would have been unthinkable without that solid relationship.” pp.93-94
And if that’s not enough, check out what Alinsky said about cloistered monks and nuns:
Given how many CCHD grantees that promote abortion, birth control and homosexuality have received and continue to receive Catholic funds, it’s clear that it is just following the precepts of its hero, Saul Alinsky. So, print out a sheet of those Alinsky Bucks, and the CCHD the only funds it should have.
